Bethany's entry to software testing was as a content tester in 1998, basically ensuring that things were spelled correctly and images presented properly. Things rapidly expanded from testing look and feel to testing functionality when taking a Black Box Testing course through UCSC-Extension taught by Cem Kaner, J.D., Ph.D. (A man regarded as the godfather of software testing.) She followed up with a course in testing internet applications taught by Hung Nguyen, also offered through UCSC-Extension. Continuing to take advantage of being centered in Silicon Valley, she expanded her skillset by completing an advanced SQL course through UC Berkeley's Extension program. With these courses as a foundation, she have made software testing a 20 year career, taking her from small start up companies to large corporations while testing both enterprise software and web based applications.
